About Craig McRae

With over 25 years in the AFL, Craig McRae now leads as Head Coach of the Collingwood Football Club.

Originally from Adelaide, McRae kicked off his career with Glenelg in the SANFL and was drafted to the Brisbane Bears in 1994.

Known for his roving skills and scoring prowess, he played a pivotal role in Brisbane's 2001, 2002, and 2003 Premierships.

McRae represented South Australia in State of Origin, starred in the International Rules Series for Australia, and earned a spot in the Brisbane Lions Team of the Decade (1997-2006).

He transitioned into coaching, achieving remarkable success, including a 2019 VFL Premiership with Richmond.

McRae's accolades include AFLCA Development Coach of the Year (2012) and AFLCA Assistant Coach of the Year (2019).

He took the helm as Collingwood's Head Coach in 2022, and coached the Magpies to victory, winning the 2023 AFL Grand Final Premiership.
