About Gabriel Gate

Gabriel Gaté trained as a chef in several of the top restaurants in France, arriving in Australia in 1977 with his Australian wife, Angie. Soon after, Gabriel began to freelance as a chef consultant, cooking demonstrator, writer, broadcaster and TV presenter.

He is one of Australia’s best-selling cookery authors, his 24 cookbooks having sold well over one million copies. His latest book is entitled So French So Sweet .

Gabriel is a much loved and skillful guest speaker, MC and Brand Ambassador.

He has presented cookery shows on television for many years. His credits include The Good Food Show on ABC and What’s Cooking? on the Nine Network. He had the chance to work alongside Bert Newton for 12 years on Good Morning Australia.

More recently he has fronted the popular cooking segment, Taste Le Tour with Gabriel Gaté featuring the amazing food, wines and gastronomy of France during the annual Tour de France bicycle race.
