Mark Hughes OAM is a former professional rugby league star turned passionate brain cancer advocate and keynote speaker.
A two-time premiership winner with the Newcastle Knights and NSW State of Origin representative, Mark’s life changed dramatically in 2013 when he was diagnosed with high-grade brain cancer.
Refusing to give in, he co-founded the Mark Hughes Foundation, which has since raised over $35 million for brain cancer research.
In 2026, Mark was awarded an OAM for services to the community through charitable organisations.
Today, Mark shares his extraordinary story of resilience, purpose, and community impact with audiences across Australia, encouraging others to face adversity with strength and to make every day count.
