About Mark Readings

Mark Readings is one of the state's most respected journalists, presenters and MC's, having spent 33 years in the media industry.

Mark worked with Channel 9 for 23 years, covering and commentating a range of sports, including AFL and cricket, along with working at two Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games.

Notably, he commentated netball at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne as well as gymnastics in London in 2012. In 2003 Mark Readings was presented with a Logie Award and a Walkley Award for his coverage of the Bali bombings. He was one of the survivors, having been in the Sari Club and inside Paddy's Bar during the first explosion. It's a remarkable story nearly 20 years later. In 2014, Mark joined the Seven Network where he was the sports presenter for Today/Tonight. His other roles included commenting AFL, WAFL, cricket, Olympics and Commonwealth Games. He also hosted a weekly footy show for the station and expanded his work with The West Australian. This included online sporting commentary, podcasts and writing weekly articles for the paper. Mark Readings is also prominent on radio as a commentator with 6pr during the football season and a regular co-host on Sportsday, a daily show from 6-8pm.

With an engaging and warm style behind the microphone Mark Readings is the father of twin daughters and lives in an all female household, which provides an ample source of humour during his presentations.
