About Robert Gottliebsen AM

Robert Gottliebsen AM writes daily commentary for the Australian’s digital and print publications.

He has been commentating about business and investment for six decades.

In 2007 he joined with Alan Kohler and Steve Bartholomeusz to start Businessspectator.com.au. which was purchased by News Corporation in 2012.

Robert Gottliebsen started the Chanticleer column in The Australian Financial Review in 1974; was the founding editor of BRW magazine and spearheaded it for almost two decades.

He pioneered business commentary on the ABCTV and on radio and has been awarded the Graham Perkin Award for Australian Journalist of the year and was given a Lifetime achievement award by the Melbourne Press Club.

Last year Gottliebsen received The Walkley Award for Outstanding contribution to journalism.
