Ky Furneaux

Ky Furneaux looks at a challenge dead in the eye and meets it head on. When she was 19, she miraculously walked away from a car accident after sustaining a fractured spine injury. Despite a diagnosis of no physical activity for the rest of her life, she did more than walk. She jumped, climbed, dangled and fought her way to win the Taurus Stunt Award for Best Female Stunt Performer in the world.

Ky has channelled her strength to transcend the physical. She was chosen as one of the Who’s Who of Australian Women for three years in a row for her persona as a strong, positive female role model. She stresses the importance of letting your own knowledge and belief in yourself be the guide to what you can achieve, and not letting anyone’s words of doubt get in the way.

To help spread her empowering message, she’s written a book entitled “Girl’s Own Survival Guide” to help women confront their fears about the world around them, both in the outdoors and the urban jungle. Her other books include Survive, When the Grid Fails and Fire making me the most published survival author ever and also the first female to write a comprehensive survival guide.

Ky is also the Outdoor Ambassador for NSW and ACT and that my role is to encourage people to experience the positive mental and physical health benefits that can occur from getting outside

Ky Furneaux is fierce, physically and mentally, and will teach you that failures aren’t an endpoint, rather a chance to try something new, helping anyone maintain a positive working environment in times of change.
